Telling your story is what makes people want to come to you over your competitors and  makes them look to you for advice or seek your products. The story format is especially powerful for sharing this information because human beings even in the internet age are hard-wired to listening to stories, story sale. social media is the perfect vehicle for telling stories and offers a global audience. Not only that but sites like  Facebook and Twitter make it easy for you to tell your story with pictures audio and video as well as text. But first you have to find the right story one that people are seeking one that will solve their pain, problem or fear. So you need to tell a story that demonstrates how you have solved a very similar pain, problem or fear. Tellling your story is one way you could go about relateing to your audience.   

Some types of stories reach very deep into the american consciousness. Stories about 2nd chances, self made successes, hardworking newcomers who realize the american dream, and reinvention speak to very deeply held beliefs about who we are. Like a man I knew from japan whose uncle gave him a pair of nunchucks he used in a kung fu championship match he won. This man and his wife came to america and  opened a kung fu fighting school. His story of adaptation while retaining his roots has given him media coverage and positive exposure for his business.

Now you're probably wondering how this will relate or be useful to your social media or how you are going to reach this global audience.
